Hello There!
My name is Jackson Hearne, I’m 20 years old (almost 21) and I am a digital media innovations major at the amazing Texas State University. I have been involved in the culinary world ever since I was young and have been professionally trained in kitchens for the past five years. I currently work for the well known Austin corporation, Torchy’s Tacos, as an expo and prep cook.
Why Food?
- Being from the South, I’ve been raised on some amazing dishes
- There are some hidden dishes that could be considered treasure around the world that deserve the spotlight
- My family has a long history with cooking and working in restaurants
- Who doesn’t like trying something new!
The Process
In an effort to keep each review fair and reliable I will be using the Michelin guidelines to help create my opinion on the dish. There will be five different categories that I will use as criteria; product quality, mastery of techniques, personality within the dish, value/ cost, and the consistency of food. Within each review, I will include a rating of one out of 5 points, five being the highest, and create a score out of 25 points.
Goals and More
With each review I post there will be a quote from some of my favorite celebrity chefs. I am very excited to start this blog and start sharing some personal favorite dishes, but I’ll need some recommendations as I’d love to try some readers local favorites! Feel free to reach out to me at any time if you have a suggestion and do not be afraid to come along with me! I always welcome company and second opinions on the dishes for the reviews.
